Creative Arts Social Skills Program
This program is designed for the arty and crafty. Each week children and adolescents come together to explore a different social and emotional skill. A combination of drama and craft activities are designed so that the group can practice their skills. At the end of the program each participant takes home a special box of all their treasure created in the program with a description of what they have learnt.
The aim of this program is to empower children to think about the group, make friends and to enhance feelings of belonging. Throughout the group program participants develop confidence in themselves and feel part of a supportive group. Each week children and adolescents explore a different social and emotional skills such as:
- Recognizing and expressing how we feel in the moment
- Learning self-regulation strategies
- Understanding our body in the space
- Respecting others and advocating for ourselves
- How make friends and maintain friendships
- Recognizing emotions in ourselves and others by observing body positions and faces
- Exploring how friendships look
- Conflict management
- Learning how to say goodbye
Come and join our social skills program! Enjoy learning a range of social skills through different art activities. We have a food break with goodies to eat and lots of games to play along the way.

Body Movement Social Group
This program is suitable for children aged 2 - 5 years who are having difficulty navigating their body in a social space, performing fine motor skills, gross motor skills and separating from parents. Clinicians at Moi Clinic work collaboratively together to create the program which combines elements of psychologist, occupational therapy, speech therapy and kindergarten programs.
During this program children participate in a range of activities each week focusing on:
Fine and Gross Motor Skills:
- Drawing
- Holding a pen
- Threading and beading
- Manipulating small materials such as blocks.
Social and Emotional Skills:
- My body in the space
- Moving from parallel play to joint play
- Separating from parents and care givers
- Thinking in a group
- Expressing ideas
- Self-regulation skills
- Belonging within a group
Come and join the program on a weekly or fortnightly basis. This program is an excellent addition to those who would like to focus on skills that children will need to develop prior to entering school.

Transition to School
Our multidisciplinary team which includes a psychologist, occupational therapist, schoolteacher and kindergarten teacher deliver this fabulous transition to school program. The aim of this program is to help you and your child transition to school with ease and thereby enhance their sense of belonging and learning experience. The program will mirror school time with an emphasis on group experiences and expected group behaviour, group time, working independently, social skills experiences, fine motor skills activities and how to seek help and assistance in the school environment. At the end of the program, you will receive a written report detailing what your child has learnt throughout the program along with recommendations for the child’s therapists and the child’s schoolteacher.

Shifting Gears
During this program adolescents learn about basic car parts and how to safely maintain a car. During each week the program explores various life skills. These include social skills such as working in a group and following instructions, being assertive and learning how to ask for help and assistance. We explore how to get your Learners Permit licence and ways you can transition into the workforce following school. The program helps adolescents learn about road safety, car safety and encourages participants to work together in pairs with a social skill explored each week. During the last week participants spend time learning how to research courses and or jobs that might interest them now or after school finishes.

Amy's Art Space
Get creative and spend time exploring a range of art materials. Each school term is dedicated to exploring techniques related to a different art material. These include water colour, acrylics, clay, macrame, collage and more. During each term you will work towards a final project to take home. All materials are supplied.
